4 Ingredient Date Caramel Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup organic Medjool dates, pitted (about 10–12 dates)

  • 1 cup filtered water (adjust for consistency)

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 vanilla bean (slice open and scrape out seeds with knife)

Instructions:

  1. Soak the dates:
If your dates are not very soft, soak them in water for 10–15 minutes to soften. Drain before using.

  2. Blend:
In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine the dates, 1 cup filtered water, sea salt, and vanilla. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.

  3. Adjust texture:
Add more water (1 tbsp at a time) if you want a thinner sauce. Add nut butter or coconut cream for extra richness if desired.

  4. Taste and tweak:
Adjust sweetness or salt to taste. Blend again to combine.

Storage:

  • Keep in an airtight jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

  • It may thicken when chilled—just stir or warm slightly to loosen.

Uses:

  • Drizzle over pancakes, oatmeal, apples, or ice cream

  • Stir into coffee or smoothies

  • Use as a dip or healthy frosting base
